Outreach

SMEDAThere are few organizations in the area that provide the multiplicity of services and the ease with which services are rendered that the SMEDA Center does. We have a small but dedicated staff, who has served this community and the Center for more than 20 years.  Yet, we would not be able to serve as many families and individuals as we do without the assistance of volunteers and donors. These volunteers and donors represent our most valuable resources.  If you would like to start an Outreach project at your school, please review all of the attached documents.  There will you find details and contact information.  If you need further assistance please contact our Outreach Chairman, Alison Rose at svoutreach@svpta.org

Outnumber Hunger

In many ways, America is the land of plenty. But for 1 in 6 Americans, hunger is a reality. Right now, nearly 13 million families in America are struggling with hunger. These are often hardworking families who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even several days.

You can help by going to www.outnumberhunger.com and registering the codes on the website.  In addition to purchasing participating General Mills products, follow Outnumber Hunger on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to be the first to learn of other special ways to help Feeding America secure meals for local food banks.

Ending hunger in America requires millions of people to donate their time to help feed hungry families. Learn about volunteer opportunities at your local food bank to find out how you can help Outnumber Hunger. To get involved, please contact your local food bank.
